We asked Wine Awesomeness favorite Chef Ashton Keefe to come up with some recipes. The only requirement? They come more or less soaked in wine. We know, life is better now.
Whip up some Watermelon, Cherry & Pinot Granitas with the recipe below for maximum delight.
Ingredients (Serves 12):
4 cups watermelon, chopped
1 cup cherries, pitted and roughly chopped plus extra for garnish
2 cups Pinot Noir
1/2 cup sugar
Mint, optional garnish
Preparation:
Puree watermelon. In a small saucepan heat juice with sugar and cook until just dissolved. Remove from heat and add wine and cherries. Place in a shallow brownie pan and freeze until set. Using a fork flake granita into wine glasses and top with additional floater or pinot, cherries or mint leaves.
