Winter played it’s last cruel and cold joke with a 5 inch snow storm on the first day of spring in NYC this year. #Notfunny, winter! But a couple weeks in to the new season and I think we can put away the snow boots and take one or two layers of clothing out of the morning routine.
To celebrate 60 and 70 degree weather and summer getting closer and closer, we’ve compiled 3 RED wine driven cocktails made for the back porch, backyard BBQ, or whatever quintessential warm weather / daylight saving sipping tradition of your choice.
RED HOT SUMMER
¾ c. red wine
¼ c. lemon-lime soda
ice
Garnish: lime wheel
Combine ingredients in a glass filled with ice. Stir and garnish with a lime wheel.

SAN FRANCISCO SANGAREE
4 cherries
¼ oz. simple syrup
1 ½ oz. red wine
1 oz. bourbon
1 lemon slice
Add ice, simple syrup, wine, bourbon, and lemon. Shake and strain into a rocks glass. Garnish with cherries

1½ oz. Tequila Silver
1½ oz. pinot noir
½ oz. lime juice
½ oz. agave nectar
2 oz. grapefruit soda
Garnish: lime wedge
Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake and strain into a glass.
